Jigg Da Barber
I started cutting hair in a small room of my parents basement in Englewood Chicago. Even though I got my passion from my father and brothers, it was this guy named Johnny that lived on the block that I paid close attention to. He had a more trendy style that I quickly grew to love so I mixed a few of his skills in with mine. Different ventures took a large amount of time away from my craft but I always stayed sharp by cutting my brothers every chance I got. One of my oldest brothers understood my passion to cut so he decided to work towards opening a barbershop but he lost his life to gun violence. A couple of years after my brother died, I enrolled in Cain's Barber College, completed my 1500 hours and passed the state board exam to become a licensed barber. The owner of Directors Kuts (Louis) gave me my first opportunity when I was fresh out of school. As of now, I'm in The Historic Bronzeville District still doing what I love but in a private suite.
